Summer Studies

July 23rd, 2008 by Chinatsu

So I have decided to study in China, as an international student of course. On the road of preparation for university entrance exams, relatives found me a few private teachers to teach me Chinese Math and Language… with Geography and History soon to come. My life had just became unbreathable. Daily exercises turned to daily burial under tremendous school works… but they are worthwhile for that I really really would like to be admitted to Shanghai Fudan University. As for my today’s assignment, is to write an essay on someone I am familiar with. I chose to write about Abraham Lincoln. On a side note, I could not complete this essay without the help of online resources. So I have thank that. And I am sorry for no translation.

The “Away”

July 14th, 2008 by Chinatsu

I haven’t write in so long because I was in Shanghai New Oriental school for the last month… I wrote many essays there for homework. The class started on June 21, subsequently ended on July 11. My mom came to pick me up, along with my aunt and cousin. They lost the car key in a restaurant, but found it at around 6:00~7:00pm. We decided to stay in Shanghai for another day to avoid night driving. On the 12th, we toured Hang Zhou and stayed there for two days. Felt time went by in a glimpse and two days… were just fleeting. There was so much you can do in Hang Zhou. Words alone cannot depict West Lake’s serenity and beauty - they were ineffable. While I was away, mom told me computer broke down and everything had reinstalled…  a self reminder that I need Photoshop 7.0.

Birthday

June 12th, 2008 by Chinatsu

Today is June 12th, my official 20th birthday. My mom and I went for massive shopping from noon to three o’clock in the afternoon. She bought me a new watch, along with two sets of clothes. When I made my return, I received two bouquets of flowers - Serissa Fetida and White Rose, from my “adopted” “mom” and “brother” respectively. Friends on FB send loads of birthday wishes too. Thanks very much!

Since I’m 20, one year older than 19, and 20 years older than the day I was born, I still have too much to change. With another year to come, I would like to have less temper, more tolerance, and less anger, more happiness.

Later on…

Turned out that both bouquets are white roses.

Somewhere I wanna go…

2008 Olympic Flame Relay

This is a short video composed by me, using snapshots taken in live action from 2008 Olympic Flame Relay in China. The scene was absolutely astounding, many people gathered together along the roadside to witness this once in a lifetime event. The disappointment was however, I couldn’t grab a good spot to take the photos when runners passed on the flame, so there were some obstacles blocking the view. But overall, the quality is okay.

GO CHINA!!!

May 28th, 2008 by Chinatsu

On May 12, was the earthquake in Wen-Chuan area. We shall all remember the tremendous loss of lives on that day. Today however, May 28 is the arrival of Olympic flame torch in He-Fei.

Got up at six in the morning, brain filled with fervent passion, eagerly awaited for the pass down of Olympic flame torch. People lined up along the roadside to cheer for this live action, shouting out “中国加油! 奥运加油! 四川加油! 汶川加油!” at the top of their lungs. Olympic event brought everyone together, people united as a whole, the world united as a whole. They integrated altogether.

That’s all for today.

The Day I Set You Free

May 20th, 2008 by Chinatsu

On May 17th, 2008, Sunday, you embraced nature’s arms again. We’ve set you free at where you were found, and I hope you reunited with your family already. You stayed with me for five days, we started out as strangers and gradually became friends. You relied on me and took shelter under my protection. You taught me the responsibility of nurturing something. Watching over you, I felt joyous. However, we pondered on the thought that you should go back to nature and your family. After all, you belong there…

Want you to be well, want you to be safe, but want you to be independent too.

As the days progressed, I watched you grow, flew higher and farther, and took in the enjoyment from all those accomplishments. Now, it is time to let you go.

I’ll miss your six o’clock alarm in the morning.

God bless you and your family. Forever love.

A little sparrow

May 14th, 2008 by Chinatsu

Yesterday after my badminton game, a friend picked up a young house sparrow nearby the gym. It fell from its nest while learning how to fly… Now I’m taking care of the sparrow until it can fly and hunt for food itself. The bird chirps too much, after last night’s of deep sleep, it woke me up as early as 6 in the morning. >_> Good for alarm clock… It likes to poop too… I fed it cherries this morning and the little guy pooped in purple. -__-

We’ll see how that goes…
